Why write?
In today’s world, with information overflowing around us, writing may seem pointless.
However, despite our pride in our daily hustles, I believe our inactions define us. Haunt us. We enjoy our possessions and successes, often at the expense of others. We take pleasure in enriching the wealthy while trampling on the poor. Inequalities are growing, and we seem to have become increasingly selfish.
We have become cowards.
This is why I write. I struggle to express my thoughts and ideas, and I want to raise my concerns. I believe that every voice matters in the fight against oppression. Today, a small minority of hyper-rich tech moguls decides the fate of billions. This must be stopped.
I know these words may fall short as life goes on. Yet, we all must do what we can when we can; it’s our duty. I often allow myself to enjoy my daily pursuits and possessions. This is a comforting legacy that we may not be able to appreciate in the future.
I believe that as a society, we are drifting apart. We begin to ignore truth and facts in favor of opinions and views. We overlook what is right in front of us, admiring appearances instead.
Yet, even though I believe we can change, a strong part of me feels we are doomed to oblivion, much like the cycle of life that repeats itself.
Life is short. Enjoy it. Fight for it.
